Background  Check

Glendale Police Officers are role models for the community. A background check helps determine if applicants meet the high standards required for the job. Applicants must:

  1. Collect Required Documents

  2. Attend background interview with an investigator

  3. Take a polygraph test

  4. Undergo reference checks

Prior to your appointment to the Glendale Police Department, you are required to undergo and successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation. Part of this investigation includes the review of relevant documents. You must collect these documents before a background interview can be scheduled.

Chief's Advice: Start your Personal History Statement early. It won’t guarantee your hire, but finishing early could speed up the process.

Find the complete list of required documents here.

Once you have collected all the relevant documents, please call call Sergeant Jeff Hoover at:

(818) 548-3117 or your assigned background investigator to schedule an interview appointment.

Note: Please bring all relevant documents (originals & copies) with you to your background interview.
